Art & Antiques

1HomeOffice has been the “go to” pack and ship resource for New York galleries, auction houses, art sellers and collectors for decades. Art and antiques are a unique logistical challenge for the very obvious reason that they are unique, one of a kind treasures usually with a strong emotional connection to their owners.

Our art logistics services begin with a consultation. Without leaving the comfort and safety of your home, you can find out how much it will cost to pick up your treasure anywhere in New York City and safely transport it to our studio where a custom packing solution will be implemented.

We usually initiate the consultation process with the completion of an online form below but we can also obtain the necessary information in a phone call or screen share / video call. You will receive a written quote that details all the costs including local transportation, custom packaging and several shipping options.

Once we receive your art or antique piece, we confirm measurements, weight, and materials. Our art packing studio is a segregated from retail customer interaction and monitored by video surveillance. High Energy Particulate Air (HEPA) filters maintain a dust free environment.

Packing materials are selected to meet standards for protection during domestic or international transit. Our inhouse millwork shop custom cuts lightweight luan boards and interior frames for double boxed packaging and all wood elements for custom crating. At multiple stages of the packaging or crating process, your piece is photographed to document packing standards. This is especially important if any insurance claims have to be made after the shipment leaves our location.

We have longstanding relationships with FedEx, UPS and DHL to optimize shipping with the best delivery options and price. We know the requirements for value declaration, insurance and international customs documentation.
